Raipur, July 7, 2026/ The naming and inauguration ceremony of the state-of-the-art New Wholesale Market developed by the Chhattisgarh Housing Board and Infrastructure Development Board at Dumartarai in Raipur will now be held on July 8, 2026. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will inaugurate the modern commercial complex and formally dedicate it to the people of the state and the trading community. The ceremony will be presided over by Housing and Environment, Finance, Commercial Tax, Planning, Economic and Statistics Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary. The event was originally scheduled for July 5, 2026, but had to be postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. It will now take place on July 8. Spread across nearly 36 acres along National Highway-30, the ultra-modern wholesale market has been developed with a comprehensive range of facilities tailored to the needs of traders. The complex features wide internal roads, ample parking space, efficient traffic management, well-planned commercial infrastructure and essential civic amenities. It is expected to provide fresh momentum to commercial activities and emerge as a key driver of trade-led economic growth, not only for Raipur but for the entire state. The Dumartarai commercial complex has been developed in a phased manner. Under the first phase, 536 commercial shops and halls were constructed at a cost of approximately ₹ 76 crore, providing traders with organised and modern business facilities. In the second phase, 154 independent commercial shops of various categories have been built following an administrative approval of approximately ₹ 145 crore. With the completion of both phases, Chhattisgarh is set to receive a comprehensive, modern and well-organised wholesale trading complex. The new wholesale market is expected to strengthen trade, investment and industrial activity across the state while creating new employment opportunities. It is also poised to reinforce Raipur's position as a well-planned and vibrant commercial hub. Designed to address a long-standing demand of the trading community, the project will provide traders with a safe, convenient and contemporary business environment. Among those expected to attend the inauguration and naming ceremony are Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment Minister Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb, Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Laxmi Verma, MLAs Shri Rajesh Munat, Shri Motilal Sahu, Shri Purandar Mishra and Shri Sunil Soni, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Housing Board and Infrastructure Development Board Shri Anurag Singh Deo, Raipur Mayor Smt.
